Liposomal Alpha-Lipoic Acid

A disulfide compound made in mitochondria that is both water- and fat-soluble — the reason it is often called the universal antioxidant. It participates in regenerating other antioxidants including vitamins C and E and glutathione.

Alpha-lipoic acid is known for rapid clearance and variable oral exposure. A phospholipid carrier is used for the same reason as with the other lipophilic actives in the formula: to protect the payload through digestion, consistent with published liposomal-delivery pharmacokinetics.
